Situation: In 2021, Nam and the project team built and launched an on-chain whale-wallet tracker from scratch in roughly two months. The first two weeks brought little meaningful traffic: the dashboard was useful, but usefulness alone was not creating distribution.
Decision: Nam pushed the team to stop waiting for people to discover the dashboard. The team focused public content on whale movements involving trending meme coins and made the product’s data travel.
What changed: Founder-reported 2021 outcome: WhaleStats reached approximately 200,000 monthly active users and more than 200,000 followers on its primary X account, then expanded into additional network- and language-specific accounts.
